Video streaming trouble shooting

If you have problem streaming video because of buffering or getting out-of-sync then you might find these tips useful.

  1. Install CCleaner to clean temporary files, optimise and speed up your computer:

  2. Install Ultradefrag to defragment your computer to enable faster disk access:

  3. Install Revo Uninstaller to remove any unnecessary programs:

  4. Install PingPlotter which is free for 30 days to check if your network is at fault:
    https://www.pingplotter.com/freeware.html

  5. Run a broadband speed test on your network to see how much upload bandwidth you have available:
    http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/

  6. Check on your PC's overall system resources following the advice here:
    http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-monitor-system-resources-on-a-windows-pc.html

  7. Try reducing the frame rate to 15 frames per second and put the audio sample rate to 22050.

  8. It might be that your current PC is overloaded. If you have another computer to use - even a laptop on a short-term basis - you could try streaming from another PC to see if that cures the problem.
